To be considered as a candidate for the Facilities Manager position, you must meet the minimum education and experience qualification requirements listed below.

To determine if you meet the minimum requirements, please answer the following questions:

General Experience
1. Do you have at least 3 years of general experience in the building or facility maintenance profession, including reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, formulating cost/planning estimates, and maintaining facilities/equipment maintenance records? 2. If you substituted education for general experience at the rate of 9 months for each full time academic year of education in a job related field, would you have at least 3 years of general experience?

Specialized Experience
Do you have specialized experience that provided you with in-depth knowledge, skills, and abilities? NOTE: Qualifying specialized experience is that which was gained while working in any listed capacity:
  • Professional Engineer, Engineering Technician, Facility Manager, Facility Management Specialist, Building Management Specialist
  • Equipment Specialist, Construction Representative, Manufacturer Field Service Representative
  • Foreman or journeyman in facilities maintenance, or in the electrical or mechanical trades
  • E-6 and higher rating in a military engineering MOS/Rating
  • Public Works Superintendent, Maintenance Foreman, Buildings and Maintenance Engineer, Facilities Shop Planner and Estimator
  • Staff Civil/Base/Station Engineer in a military organization
